FAQs

Q. What can be done for my sensitive teeth?

A. Apply sensitive tooth paste over the tooth and gum area.

Q. What should I do if my temporary or permanent crown falls off?

A. Contact your dentist as soon as possible – they’ll be able to re-cement the crown back on for you. If you’re unable to attend a practice during surgery hours, you can purchase a temporary cement kit from a local pharmacy. However, this does not last for very long.

Q. What are the symptoms of abscessed teeth?

A. Typical symptoms include: redness and swelling of the gum, bad breath, discharge/pus, pain and hotness in the affected area with facial swelling.

Q. How long do dental crowns last for?

A. They last between ten to 15 years on average, but they can last longer in some instances.

Q. Why would I need tooth-coloured fillings?

A. The main reason is that they don’t contain mercury. They’re also aesthetically more pleasing than metal fillings.

Q. Will my fillings make my teeth sensitive to hot and cold?

A. No. If you need a filling this should help with any sensitivity that you may have.

Q. How do I know if I need a filling or a crown?

A. If more than two thirds of a tooth needs filling then usually a crown is considered to be the best option.

Q. Am I eligible to receive Botox injection?

A. The majority of people are eligible, but this does depend on an individual’s medical history. This is discussed during a thorough consultation before treatment commences.

Q. What are the side effects of Botox?

A. Typical side effects could include: a mild headache and heaviness of the forehead and brow area, Oedema and slight bruising at the injection site. Symptoms only last for a few days.

Q. How long do the treatments take?

A. Most treatments take around 15 to 30 minutes.

Q. Does facial rejuvenation change your facial structure?

A. Yes. Dependent on where the filler is placed, facial rejuvenation can lift cheek and jaw areas and nasal labial folds. The face will appear more firm and younger looking. Botox can also remove deep and fine wrinkles and skin peels will make the skin glow.

Q. How long will the benefits last?

A. Botox & fillers can last between six to nine months. Amazing looking skin can last indefinitely if you have a proper skin regime, using products, ingredients and treatments that actually penetrate the skin barrier.
